ACRO provides two dedicated series of Human Laminin 521 proteins—the Flagship Series and Complementary Series—both developed for iPSC (induced Pluripotent Stem Cell) expansion and differentiation applications. These two series of Human Laminin 521 proteins are all designed and developed utilizing our proprietary AI technology, which is protected by patent rights. We retain full commercial rights to these products.

Primary Recommendation: Flagship Series
As the core of ACRO’s Laminin 521 portfolio, the Flagship Series is the primary recommendation for most standardized workflows. This series also facilitates easier detachment during stem cell passage and delivers reliable, high-performance results for stem cell applications.
It includes two versions: Flagship (the original, LA5-H5248) and the newly launched Flagship Pro (LA5-H5217)—with the latter being an optimized variant based on the original Flagship. Both deliver reliable performance for iPSC culture, making them the first choice for most scenarios.

Complementary Series (Alternative for Specialized Needs)
The Complementary Series is designed as a supplementary option (LA5-H5213L & LA5-H5261), not a replacement for the Flagship Series. It is intended for scenarios where the Flagship Series may not fully meet specific experimental requirements, offering marginal performance adjustments for niche use cases.
This series includes two products that share identical manufacturing processes—their only difference is physical format and formulation.

Laminin 521 (LN521) is a recombinant human protein that provides a defined surface for in vitro feeder-free culture of multiple human pluripotent stem cells (PSCs). LN521 has been proven to maintain normal growth characteristics and stemness in multiple PSC lines without simultaneous differentiation, which includes ESC, iPSC, MSC etc. In addition, LN521 has been demonstrated to support PSC growth for >10 passages without any signs of karyotypic abnormalities and to maintain the ability of PSCs to differentiate into all three germ line lineages.

Flexible & Compatible
Laminin 521 could work well in any commercial stem cell media. Meanwhile, it could support the attachment and expansion of hPSCs.

Stemness maintenance
Laminin 521 is the biologically relevant hPSCs extracellular matrix. It is crucial for the growth and stemness maintenance of hPSCs in human through its binding to cell receptors a6β1 integrin.

Enhance cell differentiation
Due to the diverse biorelevant environment, laminin 521 could also enhance cell differentiation, polarization and organization of target cell types.

Reduce Variability
LN521 is a defined, recombinant human protein with better lot-to-lot consistency that reduces variability in your PSC cultures.

Biological activity is calibrated against WHO/NIBSC standards when available.
ACRO's Premium-grade (Pre-GMP) products are characterized by their high quality and enhanced safety profiles, making them ideal for early-stage discovery and manufacturing processes in cell therapy companies. A key advantage is their seamless transition to corresponding GMP-grade versions. Biological activity is calibrated against WHO/NIBSC standards when available. Typical specifications include endotoxin levels of <0.01 EU/μg and purities >95%. In addition, rigorous testing is conducted to ensure the absence of mycoplasma, HCD, and HCP, thereby guaranteeing product safety.
