Amyloid precursor protein (APP) is a type 1 membrane protein with an NH2 -terminal extracellular domain and a COOH-terminal cytosolic tail. The amyloid precursor protein (APP) takes a key role in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathogenesis. Processing of APP generates that generates the Aβ peptide, whose accumulation is associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
