Langerin分子背景
Langerin (CD207) is a crucial C-type lectin receptor (CLR) primarily expressed by Langerhans cells (LCs) in the epidermis. It functions as a pattern recognition receptor (PRR), utilizing its extracellular domain to specifically bind carbohydrate structures on pathogens (e.g., mannose, fucose). Uniquely associated with Birbeck granules, Langerin mediates efficient antigen internalization and processing, thereby enabling LCs to initiate adaptive immune responses and restrict certain infections. Its distinct expression also serves as a key diagnostic marker for Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH).
