HLA-DP is a isotype of MHC Class II responsible for presenting foreign antigens to the immune system's helper T-cells. The CLIP peptide, derived from the invariant chain, occupies the peptide-binding groove of the newly synthesized HLA-DP molecule to prevent it from loading irrelevant peptides inside the cell.
